Today, the LTA have outlined the calendar for the grass court season in 2025, with changes to the timings and levels of events at many venues, including the cessation of the Surbiton tournament.

These changes herald a new and exciting era for the role that Edgbaston Priory Club will play in supporting the tennis calendar: a role which started in 1982 with the ‘Classic’. We are proud that we have played a significant part in showcasing women’s tennis over the last 42 years. Many winners here have gone on to win Wimbledon. We will continue to play a significant part and the 2025 grass court season will begin here at Edgbaston Priory Club with a male and female tournament.

In the meantime, in 2024, our primary focus is to deliver this year’s Rothesay Classic to the best of our abilities. At Edgbaston Priory Club we have a track record of developing rising talent across all our racquet sports, so we look forward to a new and exciting era for our ongoing tennis story; closing a chapter with pride and opening a new one, by kicking off the grass court season and welcoming a men’s tennis tournament to the club to complement our support for the women’s game.
