November 2024 has been a fantastic month for our Club! With our annual Sparkly Spectacular, hosting the British Tour and County Cup in our ITC, our squash academy played and competed in Poland, the start of our festive celebrations and we opened our brand new padel courts and began our padel courses – this month has been very important.
Sparkly Spectacular
Our Sparkly Spectacular went off with a bang! Our tickets completely sold out, with family and friends coming together to watch the amazing fireworks. Alongside our fireworks display we had food stalls including our Club BBQ, Smoke & Ash Pizza, Churros Susanna, popcorn, candyfloss, fairground amusements, face painting, craft activities and a DJ in the Function Room! It was safe to say our Club was busy with excitement!
British Tour & County Cup
We love hosting external competitions in our ITC! This November we hosted the Lexus British Tour with several Edgbaston Priory Club players entering this tournament, a perfect opportunity to play in a professional circuit on home turf. We would like to wish Tegan Bush a massive congratulations for winning the women’s event. We also hosted the County Cup, with players representing their counties and competing for the title.
Academy On Tour
We’ve had plenty of success at the Polish Junior Open Gold 2024 in Poland! All of our squash academy players worked very hard and had a fantastic trip away. We even had two podium finishes with Arya coming 2nd and Siona 3rd!
Christmas Light Switch On
We have started our festive celebrations with our Christmas light switch on! With real reindeer, Christmas music, our delicious Club BBQ including mulled wine, Baileys hot chocolate, bratwurst and magically lit up club grounds – this was the perfect way to begin our celebrations! We welcomed just shy of 300 people to watch our grounds illuminate with our festive lights. Don’t worry if you missed this event, they will be up for the whole of December!
Padel
We have recently opened three padel courts behind our indoor 7 and 8 courts and have absolutely loved playing on them! These have been a hit with members with courses and team trials already underway! Our new Head of Padel, James Southwood, has set up four padel courses that will run to the end of the year. He has offered: Intro To Padel, Intermediate, Crash Course and Junior Padel courses – so there is plenty for everyone to get involved with!
