There’s been plenty to smile about this week with both sets of Team GB doubles pairings sailing into the quarter finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics!

Dan Evans and Andy Murray produced another show stopping match ending in a match-tie break and eventually booking their place in the final eight.

Boulter and Watson are also through after knocking out sixth seeds Luisa Stefani and Beatriz Haddad Maia, our 2022 Classic Winner, 6-3, 6-4.

It’s going to be another great day for the sport with both sets of Brits playing at the Roland Garros Stadium from 11am UK time. Enjoy the watch!

#It’sWhatItMeans

Dan Evans, home player and proud Brummie has given up the chance to be ranked inside the top 100 for his Olympics debut. Playing means he’ll lose all the 500 points earned from his Washington win and will be ranked outside the top 170 next week, losing more than 110 points!

Playing on the road to gold is an unbelievable experience that will stay with all players forever. But this year’s pressure is on another level with Murray’s career finale at stake.

But this is what it means for Dan, supporting a friend and making history.

So far, this has been the perfect send off for Andy Murray. He loves the Olympics; winning two previous gold medals, he loves his country, and he loves winning in dramatic form. His matches have been full of all emotion and drama so far, and we hope the guys can keep going and get the medal!

Where does tennis fit into the Olympics?

Tennis isn’t like the other sports where their pinnacle of their career only comes round every four years. Tennis has four grand slams a year and also opportunities to represent their country in Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup. But ask a tennis player where representing your country in the Olympics and winning a medal sits in your their career and you’ll get a different answer each time.

For the Brits they love representing their country and they bring their best to the court. The Olympics brings pairs together in doubles and mixed that you would never see before, but that’s what it’s all about. Putting on your team kit and fighting for everything.

We’re rooting for Team GB and wish all four of them the best of luck in their next matches.
