Juniors

Which is the right group for you?

Mini Tots: Aged 3-5 years old

A fun introduction to ball skills, basic athletic and coordination skills which are an essential foundation for tennis.

Mini Red: 8 and under

Mini Tennis Red is played on a smaller court. At this early stage, children are encouraged to develop simple tactics and technique, with attention to getting the detail right early on. They start developing the core skills of movement and co-ordination, take part in lots of fun activities and play short matches and team competitions. Invitational groups for better players are available at this level.

Mini Orange: 9 and under

Mini Tennis Orange is played on an 18m court using a slower orange ball. This helps children to develop an all-court game, using more advanced tactics and technique. Competition includes slightly longer matches, most often played as part of a team. Invitational groups for better players are available at this level.

Mini Green: 10 and under

At this stage, children will be bigger and stronger and able to cover a bigger court using a green ball. We emphasise continued technical and tactical development using increased power and spin, as well as specific athletic skills. Competition is both individual and team-based. Invitational groups for better junior players are available at this level.

11 and over:

Junior tennis caters for serious or social players. The whole court game is now being developed tactically and technically, using a normal ball. Competition is both individual and team-based. Invitational groups for better junior players are available at this level.
